Police have charged a teenager in relation to a series of break and enter offences spanning over the past eighteen months in Coffs Harbour and Moree.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with the offences yesterday by officers attached to Operation Tilton.
He faces ten charges of break and enter and one count of aggravated break and enter with intent to commit serious indictable offence.
Police will allege the boy is responsible for the following offences including:
Break and enter in Condon Crescent Coffs Harbour on 19 March 2011
Break and enter of a home in Coffs Harbour on 22 March 2011
Theft of jewellery, cash and alcohol from a home in Coffs Harbour on 1 April 2011
Theft of electronic games and keys during a break in at Coffs Harbour 4 April 2011
Attempts to steal motorbikes from a home in Barwon Avenue Moree on 8 June 2011
Aggravated break and enter to a home in Coffs Harbour on 26 February 2012
Theft of alcohol, jewellery and electronic equipment from a Toormina home on 20 March 2012
Theft of a computer from a Chester Street Moree home 29 July 2012
Theft of a computer and jewellery from a Tawarri Street Moree home on 30 July 2012
Break and enter to a Boland Drive Moree home on 6 August 2012
Break and enter to an Edward Street Moree home on 28 August 2012 where a television, mobile phone and keys were stolen
Bail was refused until his next appearance at Moree Childrens Court on 17 September 2012.
Superintendent Jenny Hayes said “yesterdays arrest is extremely pleasing and a culmination of extended investigations undertaken by local Officers attached to Operation TILTON”.
Despite this arrest Superintendent Hayes said “residents need to continue to be conscious of the security of their homes and vehicles and report suspicious activity to their local Police”.
