Again, it is apparently a case of the big end of town to which the council top brass salutes, without giving the courtesy of a full prior consultation to those apparently considered by the entrusted ones, to be mere minions  not worthy of consultation.

I am quite sure that the airline involved has pressured the TRC hierarchy to make the land allocation as near to existing facilities as possible, without regards to the needs of our long established aero club .

The airline has no interest whatsoever in the welfare of Tamworth, our history or, the views of its residents. It is all about money.

The airline’s responsibility/interest is to the “bottom line” and, its shareholders, which is as it should be. 

The responsibility of council top brass is to protect the shareholders – the ratepayers and residents of this city.

While I am pleased to see another airline available in Tamworth, it is only happening due to the potential profit offered to the operators, which is fair enough.

I believe that irrespective of whether it is an existing service or a newcomer which wishes to treat our aero club and Tamworth with such disdain, their services should be boycotted by loyal Tamworth residents.

It is another example of lack of consideration/consultation evidenced in Tamworth for some time past.

In my 57-year association with Tamworth I have not before encountered a council which seems so remote from its constituents.

We need a council for the people.
