Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer 

Jesse Spencer went from Neighbours to donning a white coat as Dr Robert Chase in House M.D., where he met Morrison who was playing Dr Allison Cameron. The pair actually met while filming the pilot for the hit show in 2004 and  were gossip-mag fodder for some time, with Spencer proposing in French at the Eiffel Tower. Sadly the pair called it off in late 2007, with Morrison leaving the show in 2009 although she made a guest appearance on the show's final episode in 2012.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher

This pair worked together for some time playing boyfriend and girlfriend on That '70s  Show from 1998 before romance blossomed, with them already tied to famous significant others in Macaulay Culkin and Demi Moore, the latter to whom Kutcher was married for six years. The show ended in 2006, but news emerged in 2012 that the pair were a legit item and last October marked the arrival of their baby daughter Wyatt and last week they married, according to reports.

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer 

Another relationship sprung out of  a pilot episode, Paquin and Moyer met auditioning for the pilot premiere episode of racy vampire series True Blood in 2007, her playing telepathic waitress Sooki Stackhouse to his vampiric Bill Compton in the quirky town of Bon Temps. They married in 2010, with twins Charlie and Poppy born in 2012. The show ended last year after seven seasons  but Paquin had told Red magazine, "A lot of people say, 'Oh, I could never work with my significant other,' but I love getting to go to work with the person I want to spend all my time with."

Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan 

This couple have well and truly gone the distance having met on sitcom Family Ties when she played Ellen Reed the girlfriend of Alex Keaton (Fox). Pollan was dating Kevin Bacon at the time, but after they split she was reunited with Fox while filming movie Bright Lights, Big City in 1987 – a relationship started and they married in July the next year. They have since had four kids together, and weathered the challenges following Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis in 1991 and his battle with alcohol. "That love never died," Pollan told Oprah Winfrey in 2002, "We had a solid foundation to begin with."

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan

It's hard to believe that Minogue played feisty mechanic Charlene for only two years from 1986, but her wedding to Scott Robinson was one of the biggest TV events of 1987. Both branched off into a career in music, with smash duet Especially For You in 1988, before the couple split and Minogue moved onto being the pop behemoth she is today and relationship with another famous face in Michael Hutchence. However, the Minogue-Donovan liaison is among a long line of Neighbours hook-ups including Craig McLachlan and Rachel Friend, who were briefly married in the 1990s and Stefan Dennis and Gayle Blakeney and Fiona Corke and Nick Carrafa, the latter who are still married.

Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson

The couple met on teen drama The O.C., where they played couple Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts, and much to tabloid excitement, dated for three years before splitting in 2006. Brody later met Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester – who also dated the show's co-star Sebastian Stan – on the set of movie The Oranges, and the couple married in 2014.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness

This solid showbiz couple, who have been married since 1996, met on the set of Correlli in 1995, which starred Furness as a prison psychologist Louisa Correlli, with Jackman appearing in his first proper acting gig where he admitted he had a "mad crush" on the leading lady. The show didn't last, but their romance did and Jackman's acting career has long eclipsed his wife's, who has since carved out a very influential role as an adoption campaigner.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

An honourable mention goes to this pair, who have been married since 1997. They met when Pinkett auditioned for the role of Smith's girlfriend Lisa in 1994 for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She didn't get the role, but they both scored a relationship, and the couple now have two, increasingly wacky kids in Jaden and Willow.
