Narrabri Eagles, Inverell Saints and Gunnedah Bulldogs all enter today’s 11th round with four wins apiece.
The improving Eagles are third virtue of their better percentage, although that is a touch above the Inverell Saints, 117.83 per cent compared to the Saints’ 115.45 per cent.
Gunnedah Bulldogs have leaked many more points and sit on 82.14 per cent however they host Moree Suns today and a big win on their home Wolseley Park soil could be just the turnaround Jon Woolaston, Ryan Cooper and Andrew George need.
George was outstanding for the Tamworth AFL side in its 13-point loss to North Coast in Armidale last week.
So too was Eagles coach Todd Dunn and he will lead his side into a huge contest with Inverell Saints at Varley Oval today.
Michael Miskle also played in that representative game and he will also be a major player for the Eagles today after some consistently good performances of late.
At home, the Saints will want to turn around a disappointing season under young coach Hayden Chapple.
Chapple also played strongly as an assistant coach for Zac Economou in last Saturday’s TAFL game against North Coast and will be a major threat along with Luke Selig.
That leaves reigning premiers New England Nomads to play Tamworth Swans at Bellevue Oval today and another huge task for the struggling Swans who were beaten by 118 points by the Roos on Tuesday night.
The Roos have the bye.
