Originally planned for the week before the Tamworth Winter Indoor Championships held last weekend at the AELEC in Tamworth, the Gunnedah Winter Jumping Festival was postponed until this weekend due to the welcome rains that drenched the area a few weeks ago.
Olympian Vicki Roycroft won the Grand Prix on Sunday, proving she is still at the top of Australian showjumping, a sport where men and women compete alongside one another and age is no barrier to success.
Second place went to the up and coming Sarah Beale from Terrey Hills and local Tamworth rider James Hetherington claimed third.
Next weekend the eventers continue to jump with the Three Day Event being held at the Quirindi Showground.
