Detectives returned to the scene in Fitzroy St yesterday as they try to piece together the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, aged in his seventies.
Emergency services discovered the man’s body at the home just before 3pm on Wednesday, after concerns for his welfare were raised by a member of the public.
Detectives, forensic officers and police scoured the home well into Wednesday night, after a crime scene was declared.
Barwon Acting Inspector Adam Bartlett said yesterday it could take some time to determine what had happened.
“Detectives are making further inquiries in relation to the matter,” Acting Inspector Bartlett said.
“Investigations are continuing.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
