THIRTEEN Year 3-6 Attunga Public School students participated in some artistic recreations of book characters recently, and “they’re all little Renoirs” according to principal Shellie Tancred.

“It was a marvellous effort they put into it, particularly considering their ages.” The idea stemmed from the students’ current involvement in doing book studies.
“We’re currently doing Pig The Fibber (by Aaron Blabely) which is based on Pig the pug dog and his mate Trevor the dachshund.
“Pig wants to be greedy all the time but Trevor is always being friendly. It’s basically a message book focusing on the ‘don’t tell lies and be friendly to eveyone’ aspect.
“And the children were required to freehand draw the two characters, then build those drawings up with acrylics, graphites and chalk pastels.
“They did a marvellous job, nothing stood out – they’re all little Renoirs,” Ms Tancred said.
