Now into its 13th year, the under-11s carnival will wrap up with finals this afternoon.
This year’s tournament has attracted 34 teams from all over the state.
Instigated as a development carnival, it started on Saturday with a coaching clinic.
“We would have had more than 400 under-11 players,” Northern Inland regional coaching co-ordinator Blair Chalmers said.
The clinics have been a staple of the carnival and this year it was all about receiving the ball.
“Because we had eight stations, what I wanted this year was to make sure we had a focus in each station,” Chalmers said.
“The focus was about receiving the ball, how we receive the ball in different situations.”
Being able to receive the ball is paramount in trying to promote the ball further.
The Longyard precinct was a hive of activity, with 200 showjumpers and 500 horses competing in the Winter Indoor Showjumping Championships at AELEC.
