With the chance of snow, you could be forgiven for thinking you were celebrating a European Christmas, complete with a roaring open fire, and Santa may even roll in on a sleigh.
Peel Inn manager Nathan Schofield said they started Christmas in July celebrations in Nundle a few years ago.
“Winter is a bit of a slower time for us and it gives people the opportunity for a bit of a mid-year celebration,” he said.
“Everyone has been at work for six months, but they don’t have to wait another six months to get together.”
Mr Schofield said Santa made an appearance, and Christmas in July was put on for bigger groups that could have a standalone event, as well as for smaller groups that could join with other groups for the celebration.
As well as being good for the pub’s business, it also attracts visitors to the village.
“We have people coming from Wyong, Penrith and lots of groups from around the region,” Mr Schofield said.
“It’s essentially a staff party that they normally do in December, but good for the town to get groups in mid-year.”
