A P-plater was involved in a series of crashes which left him and two others injured along a major highway on the Central Coast on Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old collided with five cars as he drove his ute along the Central Coast Highway at East Gosford.
The driver continued on after he first collided with a car travelling in the same direction past Avoca Drive about 1.45pm.
He was then involved in a crash with another car heading in the opposite direction.
Shortly after the driver was involved in a collision with a third car, which left the other driver trapped in wreckage and seriously injured.
A fourth collision occurred before the driver crashed head on into a small hatch car.
The 23-year-old had to be rescued from the wreckage and suffered head and internal injuries. The other driver had minor injuries.
The series of collisions closed the highway in both directions between Avoca Drive and Russell Street and caused heavy traffic, with some buses facing delays of up to 90 minutes in the area.
All lanes had been reopened and diversions lifted shortly before 8pm.
Police said an investigation was underway and the driver would undergo mandatory testing for blood and alcohol.
The driver was airlifted from the crash site and is in a serious condition in hospital.
