The Devils are currently equal third on the G21 first grade table with Aberdeen and are coming off an 18-16 loss to Aberdeen at home last Saturday.
While they are tackling the in-form and reigning premier Colts they are also battling a huge injury toll.
At one stage they had nine first graders sidelined, coach Paul Gallagher said a few weeks back.
Then star halfback Gary McKeon broke a hand.
Last week they did welcome back Tyson Bruns from injury and this week it might be Isaac McCormick’s turn to return.
Gallagher hasn’t used the injury toll as an excuse and watched his young side compete strongly in all bar one game, a blowout loss to Greta.
“That was against Greta Branxton where we had six or seven out the first time,” he said.
“We also hope Ben Hagan (rep), Paula Dinavolau and Brady Stair might be back soon too. If we can get them all back, a few sides might be a bit worried.”
Greta Branxton ended Scone’s unbeaten run last week and sit a point ahead of Denman and Aberdeen in outright second.
They are building nicely after losing their first four games.
“Joby (Patten) still thinks we’re five weeks off,” coach Ron Griffiths said.
This evening, Muswellbrook Rams host Aberdeen Tigers at Olympic Park while Singleton are at home on to Scone in tomorrow’s second G21 Sunday game.
G21 TABLE: Scone 14, Greta Branxton 8, Denman 7, Aberdeen 7, Singleton 6, Muswellbrook 4.
