For small business owners in Tamworth, bills are expected to rise by almost $400 on average.
A typical annual bill for regulated gas in Tamworth is projected to rise by 3.8 per cent, or around $37. However, prices across NSW are expected to fall by almost the same amount – 3.9 per cent.
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) yesterday released updated average regulated retail gas prices.
The state-wide average fall is skewed by AGL’s average regulated price, which will fall by 6.6 per cent. AGL supplies 80 per cent of regulated gas customers in NSW, mainly in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Dubbo, Orange, Parkes and parts of the Riverina region.
But AGL prices in Queanbeyan and Shoalhaven and those of Origin Energy in
the Albury, Murray Valley, Wagga Wagga and Tamworth areas will rise.
