POOR grammar, cleverly awful punctuation and a crass sense of humour have gained more than 61,000 social media ticks of approval for a Launceston barber shop.
"Haircut & shaving your nuts not to come in!!"
The Launceston Master Barber sign has been slapped across international Facebook pages, including that of former Star Trek actor actor and popular social media identity George Takei.
Takei posted a picture of the sign - turned into an internet meme - out to his 8.6 million-strong online fan base on Monday morning.
More than 2100 comments hung below the viral post by Tuesday, many from infuriated grammar enthusiasts.
That figure was accompanied by almost 23,000 "shares".
Barber shop manager Steve Howe said the sign had drawn a lot of positive attention to their store - despite lacking any dealings with exotic male haircuts, as the message may suggest.
"I copied it from a friend of mine in England about three or four weeks ago," Mr Howe said.
"A friend of mine sent me a Facebook message on May 18, saying someone put it up on (popular internet site) Buzzfeed.
"It was also shared by Ireland's FM104, where it got 5000 (Facebook) likes and 15,000 shares."
He said the picture had even reached his old college teacher in England.
Although Mr Howe does not expect to receive any significant increase in business through the viral post, he enjoyed spending most of Monday watching its exposure spread on Takei's page.
Shares, comments and "likes" for the meme were still streaming in that evening.
Mr Howe said he would keep the sign up until he could think of another witty message to share.
