A man will face court after police allegedly found and seized firearms in a car near Moree yesterday morning.

About 9am, following investigations, police from Barwon Local Area Command attended Church Street, Ashley, north of Moree, and spoke to two occupants of a white Holden Commodore.
After speaking with the driver, a 30-year-old man, and passenger, a 27-year-old woman, police searched the vehicle and allegedly located two rifles, ammunition, and other items.
The firearms, ammunition, and other items were seized and will undergo forensic examinations.
The driver was arrested and taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with possess firearm with altered or defaced identification, possess unregistered firearm, possess unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safe, possess ammunition without permit, and drive whilst disqualified.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Moree Local Court today.
