A man’s body has been located on the outskirts Inverell.
The body was located about 11.30am today (Friday 29 May 2015).
Police have confirmed the body is that of a 72-year-old man reported missing from Inverell Hospital about 6pm on Wednesday.
EARLIER: Police have serious concerns for the welfare of a man missing from a hospital in Inverell overnight.
Mr Milenko Maksimovic (known as Mick), was last seen outside Inverell Hospital about 6pm on Wednesday.
Police have been told there are concerns for his well-being due to a medical condition.
Mr Maksimovic is 72 years old and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a thin build, 175cm tall, dark hair with a dark moustache and grazing to his face.
At the time he was wearing a red chequered shirt, grey tracksuit pants and brown slippers; he may appear confused or disoriented.
Police have been told Mr Maksimovic speaks with a strong accent.
A search was initiated involving police, hospital staff and family members, with the Inverell VRA Rescue Squad assisting till about 11.30pm.
Police continued to search throughout the night without success.
Police, family and VRA and SES volunteers will resume searching this morning.
Residents have been asked to check their backyards and any sheds on their properties for the missing man.
Police have been told Mr Maksimovic may be attempting to make his way back towards the township of Ashford.
