The University of New England held its annual teaching awards last week, honouring five academics with citations for outstanding contributions to student learning.
Staff were nominated by their students and colleagues, and were then invited to prepare an application for the awards.
This year more than 300 individual nominations were received for 57 individuals, and seven teams, representing all the schools at UNE.
Recipients this year were Associate Professor Lillian Corbin (School of Law), Associate Professor Amanda Kennedy (School of Law), Dr Susan Feez (School of Education), Dr Sascha Morrell (School of Arts), and Dr Subba Reddy Yarram (UNE Business School).
UNE has nominated all for the 2015 Australian Awards for University Teaching, along with Dr Sujana Adapa, from the UNE Business School, who was a 2014 recipient.
Awards for commitment to enhancing the quality of student learning at UNE went to Dr Gavin Clark (School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences), Dr Mitchell Parkes (School of Education), Dr Tony Ramsay (UNE Business School), Dr Adam Rock (School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences), Dr Julie Shearer (School of Arts), Dr Keita Takayama (School of Education) and Dr Nathan Wise (School of Humanities).
