Media liaison and Tamworth minister Peter Noeckel said Sunday’s assembly focus was on peace and what the bible had to say on the subject.
“The bible teaches you about peace and we spoke about the ways we can apply bible principles to create peace,” he said.
Mr Noeckel said young people and families could apply these principles to avoid aggression in their lives.
He said the organisers wanted people to take away the “values of bible principles and how everyone applying them will help be a better community and be better in the community”.
During the assembly at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, two teenage girls were baptised – one from Walcha and one from Tamworth.
To be baptised, members undertake a study program and then arrange for it to be done at the next assembly.
“They have made a vow to live their life the way God wants them to live and be peaceable people,” Mr Noeckel said.
Sunday’s assembly attracted about 500 members from Lightning Ridge to Singleton and out to Coonamble, Coonabarabran, Quirindi, Walcha and Muswellbrook including members of the general public who wanted to learn more.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses host three conferences each year, with the regional assembly in October attracting thousands to Tamworth.
