I must say, if Mr Page’s letter counts as hate speech, then God help the cause of free speech more generally.
Mr Page may or may not be mistaken in his views, but implying that it is better to shut down those holding alternative opinions does not sound like the country I grew up in.
As a Christian, I would probably be labelled as a fundamentalist, but fundamentalism comes in multiple forms, and not always in the guise of religious faith.
In fact, once we do away with God, the only person or group who wins is the one with the loudest voice.
And even then, they might be mistaken.
