Sure, he was happy to bag the four points but he reckons his side has to improve if it is to end New England Nomads’ three year TAFL reign.
“I wasn’t real happy with he team,” Bishop said after the most recent win kept his side unbeaten and on top of the TAFL ladder.
He thought it a “sloppy” game .
“It was a game we never really got into,” he said.
“We are working on a few things though but still have a lot of work to do.”
The return of Matt Hodge was a bonus for the Roos and he kicked four goals on a day where Dan Overeem booted seven but could have easily kicked a heap more.
While they welcomed Hodge back, Luke Robinson might not be too far away either .
As it was, Chris Rankmore read the play well in the middle and was one of the Roos’ best along with Ben Gilmour and Matt Hopson.
He said the imminent arrival of Moree Suns offered a chance for his side to improve their play.
Winless Moree have returned to the TAFL after a 20-year absence and, while they have good numbers under captain-coach Nick O’Sullivan, are struggling to compete for the full game.
“We’ve got Moree at home and then Inverell here before the long weekend,” Bishop said.
“Hopefully we can win both.”
While the Roos are at home to Moree tomorrow, New England Nomads host Narrabri Eagles and Gunnedah Bulldogs are at home to Haydon Chapple and his Inverell Saints.
The Tamworth Swans have the bye after they copped a few injuries in Inverell last week.
