Sexual harassment claims at Macquarie University's law school involving students allegedly bullying a female tutor including taking photographs up her skirt have been referred to NSW Police.

The dean of Macquarie Law School Professor Natalie Klein told staff and students that she had referred the allegations to police in an email on Monday afternoon.
"We have advised NSW Police of the matter and we will fully cooperate with any police investigation that ensures," Professor Klein said.
On Friday the university confirmed it was investigating complaints that a female teaching staff member in the law school was allegedly being bullied by male law students.
Last week Professor Klein wrote a heated email to students informing them of the complaints.
"I am both concerned and angry to have heard that there are issues of sexual harassment, bullying, upskirting and defamatory communications occurring among students in relation to the Law School's teaching staff," she said.
"This conduct is completely unacceptable within Macquarie Law School community and it should not be the type of community that you as law students would want to be creating or be part of at the outset of your degree," she wrote.
Professor Klein urged anyone with any information relating to the matter to call the campus security manager so it could be investigated.
"The peers that you have today could well be the peers that will continue with you into the legal profession and you should have a say in who those people are and what conduct is acceptable to you," Professor Klein wrote.
