POLICE are appealing for public assistance after an elderly man was robbed in Moree yesterday.

About 10pm, Saturday the 93-year-old man was working at the annual Moree show when he was approached by an unknown man.
The man grabbed his apron, causing him to fall to the ground.
He fled with the elderly man’s apron, containing his day’s earnings.
Police were alerted and officers from Barwon Local Area Command attended and spoke with the man and a number of witnesses.
The elderly man was taken to Moree Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
An investigation is underway in an attempt to identify and locate the man involved.
He’s described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 175cm to 180cm tall, light brown hair and with a medium build.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
