The Duri trainer snared the first race of the day with Falzoni and then one of four Sauer’s Glass Maiden Series heats to land a double.
Spanish Fling won the third heat for Mabbott in 20.17secs, the second fastest of the four heats.
Only Mark Taylor’s Fire Fly Nelli (20.09secs) went quicker, with Michael Ruttley’s Rutland Max and Peter Midson’s Shaylor Binny both recording 20.33secs.
The final will be run this Saturday on a meeting where heats of the Mikeloren Patisserie Tamworth Cup (457m) will also be run.
Heat winners receive $400 with the Cup final worth $2000.
Also held next week are heats of the John Jordan Memorial 5th grade (402m).
Heat winners receive $300 with the final worth $1000.
While Mabbott was the only multiple race winner at Tamworth, the feature race Saturday, the Kootingal Quality Meats Appreciation Non Grade (402m), was won by John Lawson’s Sheba’s Image.
Queensland trainer Shane Robinson snared a treble at Moree on Saturday.
Robinson won the feature Ando’s Free For All (302m) with White Pony as well as two other support races with Jem’s Rush and Packing Punches.
Tamworth races again this Saturday.
