Brodie McKinnon did not appear in Armidale Local Court on Wednesday, when a fresh count of breaking into a house and stealing was laid against him.
McKinnon was arrested on January 27 following a confrontation in broad daylight in Brown St, where detectives allege he produced a loaded .22 calibre firearm.
A police search of a See Ave home later that day uncovered a firearm and culminated in McKinnon’s arrest.
Police allege McKinnon threatened a 36-year-old man with the weapon, and the victim sped away from the scene in his car before the situation could escalate.
The 19-year-old accused first appeared in court on January 28, when he was refused bail by police.
He is facing charges of possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing a loaded firearm and endangering life, intimidation and using an offensive weapon in company.
Armidale Local Court was told investigators had served a brief of evidence relating to the firearm charges on McKinnon, who is being held at the John Morony Correctional Centre in Sydney.
McKinnon is also charged with another set of driving matters, including taking and driving a stolen vehicle.
When the matter returned to court on Wednesday, prosecutors served the fresh break-in charge on McKinnon’s defence solicitor.
Magistrate Mark Richardson said it was unlikely solicitor Peter Kemp would have had time to receive instructions from the accused.
The matter will return to court on May 6.
No formal pleas have been recorded, but the court heard the matter could be com-mitted for trial on the next occasion.
McKinnon made no application for bail and it was formally refused.
