NIF general manager Steve Griffith said six teams would contest the PL’s Southern Conference and five in the Northern Conference with second grade games timed for 1pm starts followed by first grade matches at 3pm.
The first round will feature cross conference matches, with Gunnedah United hosting South Armidale, Norths United travelling to play Moree, North Companions hosting East Armidale at Marius Street in Tamworth, Namoi United hosting Joeys FC at Hogan Oval in Narrabri and Tamworth FC hosting Demon Knights at Tamworth’s Gipps Street (Field 18).
Reigning premiers Oxley Vale Attunga have a first- round bye.
Griffith said Tamworth teams had won the last four first grade grand finals and Northern Conference teams would be keen to end that dominance by getting their season off to a positive start “away from home” tomorrow.
