In the Sunday Telegraph (March 22, 2015), Miranda Divine said: “Frankly, if homosexual activists want to redefine what marriage means, you could be forgiven for wondering what difference it will make.”
My understanding of the difference any changes will make to the marriage act as it now stands – between a man and a woman, husband and wife – is it will become a union of two people, using only the reference to the names of the same-sex couple or heterosexual couple.
Labor leader Luke Foley has declared he will support same-sex marriages.
The Greens have never made a secret of the fact they cannot wait to be bridesmaids or best men at gay marriages.
Although if the federal marriage act is changed, there will not be any weddings, only unions, thus eliminating brides, grooms, bridesmaids, best men, flowergirls and page boys.
