The son of Snippetson was having his fifth race start and coming off successive thirds at Muswellbrook and Scone when lining up yesterday.
Well ridden by apprentice Adam Sewell Local Hero dashed clear of his opposition to beat Kissed By The Sun by a length and three quarter for Scone trainer Greg Bennett, who is holidaying in the US. In Bennett’s absence Tina Eveleigh has been delighted by a run of success.
“We’d been to five meetings for five winners coming here today,” Eveleigh told The Leader.
“Local Hero was a good chance and had a good solid win. That made it six from six.
“Adam rode him well too, got him to relax. He’s not a horse who can pick up, you’ve got to let him roll along and Adam let it him roll, held him together and did a great job.”
