The club’s first grade side successfully defended its first grade premiership at No. 1 Oval when they accounted for South Tamworth with a first innings win, while also winning the fourth grade premiership at Max Sutton Oval on first innings.
Old Boys almost got up in the second grade premiership but were denied by North Tamworth Redbacks in a thriller at Dick Edwards Oval. Norths led on first innings after making 155 and dismissing Old Boys for 96 but then fell for just 55 in their second innings,
It left Old Boys needing to score 119 to win.
They were all out for 117.
Bective-East won the third grade grand final with a first innings win against North Tamworth at Riverside 2, replying to North Tamworth’s 56 with 267 and then making 2-69 after the Redbacks came up with 278 batting a second time. South Tamworth’s women’s side beat Tamworth City by six wickets to hand the club a title after its first graders were bundled out for 74 in reply to Old Boys’ 109.
Old Boys were 7-141 in their second innings with Josh Smith (21no) and Jack Richards (1no) at the crease when the game was called.
