It appears to have been written like a carrot to a donkey, to sound as a benefit for the disabled.
Yes, it was yet another last-minute promise of no substance from Kevin Anderson.
He was not able to make the promise and act on it during his term as our MP.
I say that it has no substance as the idea of improving the Tamworth Railway Station is only window dressing; there is no mention of improving the actual rail carriages and or the frequency of service.
Nor are are the services to return to travelling further along the existing lines – they used to give us several services daily.
Now, so often the service runs only as a bus run, and the disabled or elderly have difficulty using the service.
If you have a guide dog or a wheel- chair then you are forced onto a bus, where there is little room and it is so very difficult.
After all of the years with a good rail service, parliamentarians of all ilks were happy to reduce our services, but now they suddenly want to start running the services again.
Maybe they think there are votes in the idea.
