THE support I have received throughout the campaign has been heartening; we all want a fairer NSW and that’s what The Greens’ policies will ensure.

My motivation to stand as a candidate came from a determination to fight to save Leard, Pilliga and the Liverpool Plains from coal seam gas and new coal mines.
The threat to our farmlands, the Great Artesian Basin and to our natural heritage, is unconscionable.
The Greens will end all subsidies to the coal mining industry and restructure taxation to fund rehabilitation and the transition to a clean economy.
This transition will include the creation of 100,000 new manufacturing and other jobs.
Privatisation of public assets (electricity, water, education and training, hospitals, lotteries and transport) is costing our community.
Public ownership provides jobs, stability for consumers and reliable revenue streams to pay for essential services.
Public assets must remain in public hands.
Voters in Tamworth need to know that first class schools, hospitals and public transport and continued ownership of community assets is entirely possible if the next government has the courage to stand up to corporate, vested interests.
The Greens are determined that every person in NSW has access to high quality, free public education and training.
The Greens are the only party committed to restoring TAFE, the heart of regional and rural communities.
The Greens will increase funding to public health services to ensure country NSW has the same access to quality health care as the city.
The Greens policies include ensuring transparency in politics, a ban on corporate donations to political parties, more accountability of politicians and strengthening the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
The Greens will work for Tamworth; we will protect farming land and water supplies, restore TAFE, invest in renewable technology to provide sustainable jobs, stop privatisation of public assets and clean up politics.
