Head of boys Joe Goldsworthy said 10 Year 12 boys shaved their heads or had their legs waxed in Shave For A Cure, with the teachers also getting involved.
They aimed to raise $3000, but have raised about $4000 so far.
At least one teacher had his legs waxed and another had an eyebrow shaved in the fundraising venture.
Mr Goldsworthy said the cause was close to the school’s heart because a Year 12 boy was diagnosed with cancer last year.
“The whole school was visibly affected by that,” he said.
“It was a shock reality of the impact that cancer has on someone who was fit and healthy. The boys have a heightened sensitivity to the illness.”
More Shave for a Cure events, hair colouring, leg waxing and close “dos” will take place over the coming weeks.
