A once-drab wall in Brisbane St is now graced with the stunning likenesses of Willie Nelson, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon.
Nic Hinwood commissioned local artist Shane Salvador to provide a “lift” to the building housing his graphic design business, Keo Design.
“It’s something that we haven’t really seen in Tamworth before,” he said. “Everyone who comes by is talking about it and you see them smiling.
“It’s so much better than what we had previously, and it’s a way that we can engage the community through art.”
Armed just with spray cans and a ladder, each black and white mural took Mr Salvador only three hours to complete.
The 25-year-old said he hoped the images, which straddle the line between mural and graffiti art, resonated with passers-by.
“I just think it encompasses what the guys at Keo Designs do here, where creativity is encouraged,” he said.
“You’ve got three musicians who are all pretty revolutionary in their own right and it goes hand-in-hand.”
