Australians should be very happy about this.
It means that we are so rich, so well-managed, so flush with money, that there is no longer any sort of financial or economic crisis here.
If we can afford to chop up, throw away and burn 2.75 million every single day for a war without end, which will profit us nothing, then there is no need whatever for any cuts or cancellations of any kind.
We can afford anything and everything — a railway from Melbourne to Brisbane following the logical route through New England, for example.
