I caught a quick breakdown of election promises for our local member’s party on the news the other night.

Out of $11.7 billion, $9.7 billion is earmarked to be spent in Sydney.
That’s $6 to the city for every $1 for the rest of the state.
I guess this wouldn’t bother me if there were six people in Sydney for every one person outside the city, or even six elected city politicians for every one regional representative!
Clearly this is not the case and I cannot understand how even one rural politician can support such uneven funding arrangements.
And how do they propose to raise this money for Sydney’s next infrastructure?
By selling the poles and wires,of which I reckon there are only one in the city for every six outside it.?
So our local member supports selling a predominately rural and regional asset to raise money to spend in the city.
