The Jon Cini-trained dog broke her maiden out of box six five starts ago at Gunnedah, although until the 340m victory at Tamworth hasn’t managed to place better than fifth since.
“She’s never been here before,” Cini said.
“I thought she was going to get pushed over the fence.”
The small-framed 22kg bitch was on the outside of John Eather’s Ducknado at the start of the turn, who started to run pretty wide.
Deb’s Dream just got in front of the yellow dog, dashed to the front and went on to win it by almost four lengths from Ranald Dawes’ Silver Diablo.
Robert Bray’s Daddy Sprite was a only head behind.
“Once she got to the front she was going to be hard to catch,” Cini said.
“I haven’t done much with her lately so she has come into this pretty fresh.”
“Maybe she is better like that.”
Cini only had two runners for the day and took two places.
His other charge, Spring Gun Viper, came out of box four to claim second in the last race of the day behind Arthur Smith’s Skipper.
Earlier in the day, Benjamin Vidler’s Miss Guyra put down a blistering time of 20.27 in the first to qualify fastest from three heats in the Blue Paws Maiden over 340m.
The final will be run at the club next Saturday, with first race jumping at 1.30pm.
Meanwhile, Queensland trainer Shane Robinson dominated Saturday’s Moree Greyhound Racing Club meeting, landing four winners on the 10-race program as well as finishing with four seconds.
He quinellaed the South Moree Butchery Maiden with Ell’s Rush and Miss Tylah Jay and was beaten only a neck with Koukla Moo to the Merle Clarke-trained Heart’s Legacy in the Moree District Services Club 5th grade (302m).
Packing Punches was also beaten a head by Natty Black in the final race of the day while Sheriff Callie was a length and quarter off the Hamish Abra-trained El Sportsmans in the Moree Champion 4th/5th Grade (302m).
El Sportsmans was one of two winners for Bingara trainer Hamish Abra. He also won the Burke & Wills Motor Inn Maiden (302m) with Sportsmans Rebel.
