EVER wanted to buy the whole city of Tamworth?
If the city and its fans get voting, you may have the chance, with a wildcard week approaching to get Tamworth back on the Monopoly board.
Tamworth last appeared on the Australian Here and Now edition of Monopoly in 2007 when the city’s residents got behind the game and voted their fingers off online.
The same dedication is needed know as the Country Music Capital goes against the globe for the Here and Now: The World Edition.
Destination Tamworth economic development and destination manager Craig Dunstan owns five different version of Monopoly and would love to see the city in the newest version.
“The question is not why should Tamworth be on the board, but why isn’t Tamworth on the board, so we need to get voting,” he said.
A worldwide vote is underway to decide which of the world’s 22 cities will be on the board, but Wild Card Week gives Tamworth the chance to be included, starting Tuesday and ending March 9.
The destinations and cities with the most submissions during this week will then be featured as the two brown property spaces in the new game.
