As a person under 30, I worry about people in rural NSW getting the opportunities and training that they need to get the job skills they want so that they can contribute to the communities that they belong to.
TAFE has had a great reputation in our region, but there is so much more to do to give students, from
18 to 30 years old in particular, the best possible chance to have an incentive to get the best possible apprenticeship and qualifications to kick-start a rewarding career.
It helps enterprise as they can employ people and grow their business.
But we need to urge the NSW government to employ more TAFE teachers, invest in facilities and promote the trade pre-employment courses more frequently and have more course options as it will allow more people in my age group to have a hand up.
It is worth the investment in rural NSW, as our economy benefits in the long run.
