Last weekend the club had a successful Come And Try day at Oakburn Park on the Saturday followed by a Lapdash on the Sunday.
This weekend four of the club members are off to Bathurst for Rounds 2 and 3 of the State Hillclimb.
At the same time another four are off to the first round of the NSW-Queensland Sprint Challenge at Warwick’s Morgan Park, club committeeman Matt Halpin said.
“It should be a good weekend at Bathurst and in Warwick too.
“We had a big weekend too. The Come and Try day was very successful.
“We normally get 10 to 12 people having a go but had 19 coming out and trying it for the first time.
“Then on Sunday the Lapdash had 34 entries.
“Everyone got five runs and a practice run too.”
The club is also preparing for the first of its Tri Series meetings at Mt Cooperabung (near Kempsey).
“That’s March 14/15 and run by the Kempsey Sporting Car Club,” Halpin said.
Kempsey, Newcastle and Tamworth sporting car clubs contest that Tri Series every year, each club holding one Tri Series meeting a year.
