Firearms stolen during West Tamworth break-in

Police are conducting investigations after a number of firearms were stolen during a break and enter in West Tamworth yesterday.

Between 6:50am and 6pm on Wednesday August 30, a house on Matthews Street, West Tamworth was broken into.

Three firearms including a 223 Ruger rifle, .22 Bruno rifle and .22 B.S.A rifle were stolen out of a gun safe in the house.

A laptop computer, iPod and jewellery were also stolen during the break and enter.

Police were notified about the incident and have conducted a forensic examination of the premises.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in Matthews Street yesterday or has information that could assist police is asked to contact Tamworth Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
