Over the past few years Wallabadah Public School has purchased electronic Smartboards for every learning space, class sets of iPads, and an integrated multi-media system throughout the school with the use of Apple TV, so students can show their work on any Smartboard in the school from either their iPhone or iPads.
To supplement work that's being done in the classroom the school will be allowing children to log onto ZooWhiz.
This innovative computer site focuses on building on the children's knowledge in literacy and numeracy and can be accessed from school or home.
ZooWhiz harnesses kids' love of animals and games to create a highly motivational environment which recognises each child's learning needs are different. The educational content is drawn from a bank of over 17,000 carefully-crafted, finely-incremented learning activities, which comprehensively covers maths, punctuation, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, word skills, phonics, phonemics and reading.
Wallabadah's staff like this program as there is ample scope to assist struggling learners and extend even the most able student.
When used at home and school, ZooWhiz becomes a seamless, integrated whole that enables parents, teachers and schools to work together for the good of every child.
Parents should check out ZooWhiz with their child and let them show you what they can do. http://www.zoowhiz.com
While there are exceptional benefits to this program, it doesn't replace the valuable teaching and learning activities and experiences that are already operating in our classrooms. It is merely a supplement.
