The South Tamworth pool was closed at about 1pm yesterday after the sediment reduced visibility in the 33m pool, children’s pool and toddler pool.
Tamworth Regional Council Operations Manager Sports Dome and Aquatics, Mel Finlay, said it is hoped the pool will reopen on Friday.
“Pool Supervisor Cameron McFarlane and his team are doing everything they can to get the pools back to pristine condition and reopened to the public,” she said.
“It’s basically a matter of time to keep filtering the water to improve the visbility - it’s difficult to give an exact time but we are hoping to reopen sometime on Friday.”
Ms Finlay said Council regrets any inconvenience the closure has caused to regular pool users.
