Brisbane dad Adam Koessler sparked a social media storm this week when he revealed he was facing criminal charges for treating his daughter Rumer, who has stage four neuroblastoma cancer, with medical marijuana. But his estranged partner Sacha Maujean yesterday claimed much of what her ex-partner said was “very false”.
“It is true he has been arrested for supplying a dangerous drug to a minor and I support the Child Protection Unit’s decision to arrest him and charge him,” Ms Maujean wrote on her GoFundMe page.
On her Facebook page, Rumer’s Recovery, Ms Maujean urged supporters to focus on her daughter’s fight against cancer, not the family issues surrounding it.
She said Rumer was released from intensive care yesterday and was feeling “much better”.
Mr Koessler is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of supplying a prohibited drug to a minor on January 20.
