The amount of correspondence to The NDL regarding the inadequacy of the Tamworth Regional Council and their inability to placate the ratepayers of the region reflects this deficiency with alarming clarity.

I refer particularly to Alexander Allen (Manilla) and Bruce Turner (Tamworth) who wrote (NDL, Dec 11) expressing some “home truths” about the council.
Surely there must be a solution to “curb” the TRC greed for procuring revenue to be allocated to the useless and inappropriate projects as listed in their presumptuous leaflet to the ratepayers.
Changing tack, another issue is their penchant to “overman” outdoor projects, particularly roadworks with machinery, trucks, etc.
The allocation of men to perform these tasks is 50 per cent of them do the “work” and 50 per cent stand by “picking their noses, scratching their bottoms or whatever”. It is most irritating to witness this procedure.
The most important “super whinge” is the $3 million to build a roundabout. Fair suck of the sauce bottle, as Kevin07 once stated!
