Hilton Stanley Humphries has denied four charges against him and has been committed for trial, with the Moree District Court to hear the evidence against him in October 2015.
Judge Leonie Flannery committed Humphries in a callover last week, with the trial before a jury expected to last between five and seven days.
Humphries has pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated indecency with a victim under the authority of offender, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault under authority.
Barwon detectives allege the victim was under the authority of Humphries while he was school principal of Moree Secondary College.
The offences allegedly occurred in the Moree area in 2013 but the details surrounding the allegations and the victim were suppressed by the court earlier this year.
Humphries was handpicked by the state government as one of “15 super-principals” to spearhead its Connected Communities program, aimed at boosting the outcomes of Aboriginal students in public schools.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education has confirmed Humphries is still on leave from his role.
He remains on bail but is prohibited from entering Moree and has to report to police weekly.
