A POLICE pursuit had to be terminated yesterday after a motorcyclist reached dangerously high speeds near Boggabri.

Narrabri highway patrol officers tried to stop the black motorcycle on the Kamilaroi Highway south of Baan Baa about 10.30am, after it was detected travelling at 130km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A pursuit was initiated when the motorbike rider sped away from officers, racing towards Boggabri.
The rider reached speeds of 180km/h before police terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns.
Meanwhile, a person has been airlifted to hospital after a head-on crash near Gunnedah late yesterday .
The crash happened on the Kamilaroi Highway just after 5pm, about 15km west of the town.
Paramedics treated a man and a woman for serious injuries before one was taken by road to hospital and the other by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
