TAMWORTH residents have the chance to air their concerns in a public law and order forum at TRECC.
The Attorney-General, Greg Smith, will be on hand to answer questions, so it’s up to all of us in Tamworth to show we all want the same thing – a community that is not living in the shadow of lawless behaviour.
When I was a kid growing up in a small town, you didn’t need to lock your doors and nobody ever locked their cars. Who would want to take something that didn’t belong to them? Your neighbour was someone you knew and trusted.
It’s a very different society we live in today. Due to this new world of ours, everything is locked tighter than a drum – doors, windows, cars, you name it – but that doesn’t mean we have to stop caring about our neighbours.
People are living in fear. Older people are afraid to go out their front doors in the wake of violence in our community.
It’s got to stop – and if we show our support at this public rally – it will display that Tamworth is a city with real heart, that cares for its neighbours and wants a better life for all who live here.
