New England Highway accident causes delays

MOTORISTS travelling along the New England Highway near Scone were delayed for hours yesterday following a truck accident.

The accident occurred on Tuesday night just south of Wingen.

A salvage operation took place most of yesterday morning, while emergency service crews removed the truck from the highway.

Reports indicated the truck rolled on the highway but the 45-year-old driver hadn’t suffered injuries.

Stop and slow conditions were in place on southbound lanes until the salvage was complete.

The delays increased as the morning traffic progressed and motorists were advised to expect delays and allow additional travel time.
