Kyrgios will train with coach Todd Larkham at his Lyneham base until January 1 as he fine-tunes his game before the Hopman Cup, Sydney International and Australian Open.

The $27 million National Sports Club won't be open until next year when construction of the new clubhouses is complete.

But with some of the tennis courts finished, Kyrgios will be tested on the new surfaces to build his fitness ahead of his second full season as a professional.

Larkham is overseeing Kyrgios' preparation with Australian Davis Cup coach Josh Eagle and captain Pat Rafter adding input where necessary to ensure the 19-year-old continues his remarkable international rise.

"We'll have Nick on court every day and be out there for long sessions in the heat to try to build up fitness," Larkham said.

"From [Tuesday] to January 1, we will be doing all of our training in Canberra before we go to Perth for the Hopman Cup.

"We'll be on the new hardcourts that have just been made; Nick only got back to the country yesterday and he's already keen to start training which is a good sign."

Kyrgios has just finished his stint in the International Premier Tennis League, where he trained with Lleyton Hewitt and Tomas Berdych as well as having Rafter as part of his team.

Prior to leaving Australia, Kyrgios also worked with former Australian player Peter Luczak in Melbourne while Larkham was mapping out a coaching plan.

But instead of returning to Melbourne, Kyrgios will base himself in the capital with Daniel Guccione flying in to be a hitting partner alongside Todd Volmari and James Frawley.

"Being able to hit with Berdych and Lleyton was a pretty good step for Nick," Larkham said.

"He didn't play the amount of singles matches I thought he would play, but it was a pretty good training block for him and he got some unbelievable experience."

Kyrgios enjoyed a remarkable breakout year as a professional, starting the year as the world No. 183 and bursting into the top 100 following his success at Wimbledon.

He's now ranked No. 52 and hasn't played an ATP singles match since the Malaysian Open in September.

Meanwhile, Canberra duo Alison Bai and Alex Nancarrow will start their bid to win Australian Open wildcards in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Nancarrow is fighting to overcome an ankle injury, which she suffered in the Canberra Velocity's Asia-Pacific Tennis League conference win last Friday night.

Larkham has been helping Bai and Nancarrow prepare for their hopes of securing an Australian Open berth.

"I think they've both got winnable first rounds. I'd expect them to do really well, but Alex will play Arina Rodionova in the second round if she gets through," Larkham said.

"They've both got tough second rounds but if they get through the first match they'll be underdogs and can cause upsets."

Bai opens her campaign against Isabella Holland while Nancarrow will play Maddison Inglis if she's fit enough.
