These pose no threat to the general public, though – it’s a new short film being shot in the region by Zombie Dinosaur Productions.
The concept was born by Jade Barlow, with the script written by Ms Barlow and fellow Tamworthians Luke Oldknow and Matthew Turner.
Shaun Miller, from Level Up Amusements, is financing the film.
Starring Bianca Bradey and Jonathan Lane, the horror film mixes dinosaurs and zombies like never before.
Bradey said she had wrapped up filming another zombie movie before flying to Tamworth to film Zombie Dinosaurs.
“Jonathan got me involved and said it was going to be a great project,” she said.
“I was just in a zombie feature film, Wyrmwood – and I’m not even a massive, huge zombie fan, I’ve just fallen into it.”
The actor said she liked the people involved and the film was going to look beautiful.
“While it’s a kitschy theme, it’s going to be a serious film,” she said.
“It’s involving zombies and dinosaurs, and everyone loves zombies and dinosaurs.”
Her previous zombie film, Wyrmwood, is being distributed in the US and Canada.
Lane said he had worked on three projects with director of photography Mr Oldknow previously.
“I know Luke quite well, and I’ve played a psycho with him before,” he said.
“I was in Los Angeles, but fortunately I was returning when this was happening, and then I got in contact with Bianca because they wanted an alpha female.”
Lane said he was thrilled to be working with Mr Oldknow again.
“I damaged a vocal cord earlier this year, so apart from a couple of things on TV, this is the first time playing anything for film this year,” he said.
“I thought it was a great opportunity to get into a different genre. I’ve got such confidence in what Luke’s doing. It’s the funnest shoot I’ve done.”
He returns to the US next month, where he’s just secured representation and is going to see what eventuates.
“I think it’s time to get over there and give it a crack,” he said.
Zombie Dinosaur will be released in the next couple of months with all filming and special effects done in Tamworth.
