Not only will NIF be running its two-conference men’s Premier League in 2015 but it is also hoping to begin a women’s PL as well, NIF executive officer Steve Griffith said.
“We’ll be calling for nominations for not only a men’s PL but we’d also like to establish a women’s Premier League as well,” he said.
“That’s the aim at this stage.
“We’ll be producing a nomination pack for all the clubs.
“And that will also include each club nominating a media officer.
“Each club will have to provide mobile and contact numbers for club coaches and captains on the understanding they are happy for those numbers to be given to the media.
“Each club will also have to provide goalscorers and team scores for each grade within an hour of their games each week.”
Griffith said those demands were reasonable and “fairly basic” to the NIF receiving better coverage across all mediums and in every town supplying clubs to NIF in 2015.
Nominations for the FFA Cup are also open.
Griffith has already told The Leader NIF will pay the entry fees for 12 NIF clubs to participate in the FA Cup style knockout FFA Cup.
Only one NIF team will make it through to a regional knockout clash with the winner of the Football Mid North Coast winner for the right to progress deeper into the FFA Cup.
Griffith said the first 12 clubs to enter from NIF would be entered in the FFA Cup.
“It’s first in, best dressed,” he said.
