Fellow Chaffey Black Belt Academy member Brayden Johnson was also kicking goals, and his opposition, as he won the 64.5kg division.
While 17-year-old Johnson was fighting with modified rules, Chaffey was fighting full Thai rules that include knees and elbows.
Chaffey came up against a very experienced fighter in John Hyde but dominated him with powerful kicks and knees to the legs early.
All five rounds were in Chaffey’s favour but in the final moments he managed to land a big spinning elbow to secure the title by a unanimous points decision.
Beforehand, Johnson was also giving a Muay Thai clinic, with Lochie Eadie feeling the power in Johnson’s hands.
Powerful punches had his opponent down but not quite out several times.
The official put the count on Eadie three times in the three-round fight, although it wasn’t all one-way traffic.
In the first round, Eadie came out swinging, with Johnson showing some skilful head defence.
The following two rounds saw Johnson go on the front foot and effectively punch his opponent out for a unanimous points decision as well.
